Normal Reactions to Abnormal Circumstances
TBA
Individuals affected by a disaster or traumatic incident, whether survivors, witnesses, or responders to such events, may struggle with or face new challenges following the event. In this course participants will have an opportunity to explore the common, and normal mental health and physical responses that can develop from prolonged exposure to a traumatic event. After exploring the signs and symptoms of these common reactions, participants will develop an individualized care plan to enhance their long-term adaptive functioning and coping. All are welcome.
QPR (Question, Persuade, and Refer)
TBA
QPR (Question, Persuade, and Refer) Gatekeeper Training for Suicide Prevention is a 1 hour educational program designed to teach anyone the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to respond (e.g., parents, friends, neighbors, teachers, coaches, caseworkers, police officers). The process follows three steps: (1) Question the individual's desire or intent regarding suicide, (2) Persuade the person to seek and accept help, and (3) Refer the person to appropriate resources. Participants will receive QPR certification and access to additional resources upon completion of the course. All are welcome.
