About
Kevin is a natural educator and leader who designed and facilitated Boulder’s Mental Health Partners’ training on ways to improve work place mental health and wellness. Notably, more than 4,000 employees from organizations including the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office and Parks and Recreation Department, the Boulder Police Department, Google, King Soopers, TechStars, and the University of Colorado, Boulder have received Kevin’s suicide prevention and intervention training.
As a teenager, Kevin was sexually abused by three Syracuse, New York priests. Surviving this institutional trauma and betrayal led to Kevin becoming a tireless fighter who worked diligently for the passage of New York’s Child Victims Act, which gave sexual abuse victims a one year window to file claims that would otherwise be denied because of the statute of limitations.
Kevin’s personal fight was recognized in 2020, when the U.S. Department of Justice appointed him to the Survivor Creditor Committee. The committee was formed when the Diocese of Syracuse filed for bankruptcy as it faces nearly 400 lawsuits for priest sexual abuse. Kevin chairs the committee to ensure sexual abuse victims are properly represented during the bankruptcy proceedings.
Kevin began his career as an educator and is a 1995 graduate of Brown University. An accomplished lacrosse player, Kevin was named a 1995 All American and was elected to Brown’s 1990s “Lacrosse Team of the Decade.”
Kevin lives in Arvada, Colorado with his four children.
